It appears that I will be at the lodge Friday evening to chase birds Saturday and Sunday, provided the intel is good Thursday.

Re: Snow Goose Hunt

I've had worst. The funny thing is that I almost missed out on the whole she-bang. I rolled into NEA Thursday afternoon, as did Stu. He drove in from the north of our "territory" and I came in from the south. Neither of us saw anything to get excited about. It just so happened that JD was ...

Re: W.M.A. closures!!!!!!

Here's a response posted on the 'fuge by a friend of Paul's: I went. So here's the scoop......... Cleanup begins with the FEMA contractors next Monday the 14th. After an area has been cleaned and cleared, which are established boat runs and roads than the public will be allowed in to do their thing....

Re: W.M.A. closures!!!!!!

Are you trying to incite total pandalirium? I'm thinking this is how rumors get started and spread, but who knows. What I understand based on a short little article from the Commerical Appeal that was posted on the 'fuge is that there are concerns about FEMA getting the clean-up done in time...

Our season opens Saturday this year,.

4 hours?!! I haven't spent a total of 4 hours shooting doves in the past 4 years! Damn Todd. I can sit on my front porch in town and kill a limit fast than that!

Are you sure you don't want a refund?

Re: Club Dove Hunt

We do have a second field now. No word yet on how it looks, yet, but this does mean we will have a field for Saturday and Sunday. Depending on what we find, we may even shoot a cut field like we usually do and save both of these for Sunday and Monday. We'll just see how things look Friday and make t...

Club Dove Hunt

Andy, Richie and I are planting a small wheat field in the middle of a corn field with an irrigation pivot next to it. The field also has a fencerow full of snags. Andy's been seeing good numbers of dove everytime he's driven down to the field (which is well out of the way and hidden) and I saw a bu...

Re: LaCrosse 1200 5mm Waders new at Wingsupply - $150

Mine just came in. I was concerned about the Duck Blind being to bright for the woods. I don't think that'll be a concern. It's probably along the same brightness as NatGear, which is just fine. The dang things are 5mm and all, but they sure feel lighter than my old ones. You reckon I've just been c...

Re: Bass Pro Hunting Classic Deals - Xtrema2 w/kickoff

Allright, Stu: Here's your shopping list for BPS: 2 of those Ameristep Brickhouse Blinds (one for me and one for Richie) at $100 each; 2 boxes of 3" Hevi-Shot BB or BBB (or one of each - I don't care) at 20-something bucks a box before that $20 rebate for two boxes (get the rebate form). Hevi-s...

Re: Starting to think

I think a fellas best odds for early teal season are on the AR river. I've only hunted them there once, but we see several huge groups flying it every early goose season and hear some shooting every now and then. Have I ever mentioned how hard it can be to distinguish wood ducks from teal in the ear...

Re: Bass Pro Hunting Classic Deals - Xtrema2 w/kickoff

Richie pointed out a deal that I hadn't paid much attention to because I really had my eyes set on a Double-Bull blind, but after studying on all of the blinds at Cabelas last weekend, I'm definately saving $300 and getting that Brickhouse blind on sale for $100. Stu: Rather than me making a 2 hour ...

LaCrosse 1200 5mm Waders new at Wingsupply - $150

Here's a good deal on waders like Richie and I both wear for $150 at WingSupply. The only difference is that they are in DuckBlind camo, so I'm hoping they're not too bright. I'll find out in a few days!

Season Proposal - You might want to chime in on this...

You might be interested in the two possibilities they've narrowed our season date down to. Richie and I, for whatever it's worth, prefer the option that opens the Saturday before Thanksgiving and has the youth hunt during the split in early December. If you go back and find the thread I posted a wh...

Bass Pro Hunting Classic Deals - Xtrema2 w/kickoff

I just got my BPS Hunting Classic sale paper yesterday and noted a handful of good deals. The one that stood out the most though was the Beretta Xtrema 2 in MO Duck Blind for $1300 (Oops. I'm sorry, "$1,299.99) with a free Kick-off. Additionally, it looks like you can open a Bass Pro Visaand ge...

If Mother Nature will just cooperate . . .

The duck numbers are through the roof for us this year. Below are a couple of articles that should have us all VERY excited. Our club biologist has a copy of the underlying report by the USFW that these articles are based on. I'll be happy to email anyone a copy that is interested in reading it. Del...

Re: Starting to think

Brent's fine; but about to give up on that fishing trip you're supposed to be getting together.

P.S. I only claim I shot the bird when I did, in fact, kill the bird. Duh!

And here I was thinking you were about to graduate from FNG. :(
