Re: Starting to think

As long as it's not the same color/pattern as Frost-dick's, you'll be fine.

Maybe. :?

Send your input to AGFC for the upcoming season proposals

I just wanted to let everyone know that the AGFC is seeking input on the upcoming season. Ideas under consideration can be seen at: http://www.agfc.com/!userfiles/pdfs/hunting/2009-10WaterfowlPublicMeetingPresentation.pdf Below is a copy of the email I sent them. (Whether you agree or disagree with ...

Re: Starting to think

I just realized that I've been on the phone for the past 10 minutes and staring at your avatar the entire time, so YES, I am getting the fever. (I'm just not sure it has anything to do with duck hunting.) I have to admit, I was spending more time thinking about deer than ducks until I started...

AR Elk permits

Just a reminder for the Arkansas boys that elk permit applications are now being accepted at www.agfc.com through the end of the month.

If it will work, here is the link straight to the app: https://www3.wildlifelicense.com/ar/ALS ... ran_type=1

Re: Conservation at its finest!

I thought some of you might be interested to know that J.D. and I talked about the overlooked band and J.D. just kicked himself for not having seen it either and told me to keep it since I eventually found it. Cameron, on the other hand, found out about the band from Kyle or Kale and then proceeded ...

Turkey re-cap (w/pix)

All in all, it wasn't a bad turkey season. After last year, it was down-right awesome; but still not like the good times of years past when I hair that grew down down to my back and Richie didn't have hair growing on his! I actually didn't get to hunt much this year. I took Brock and his dad o...

First bird (w/pix)

For those of you who know my buddy Allen Haegele who has hunted with us a few times over the years, he and I took his son Brock out today for the youth turkey season and Brock killed his first turkey! It was a tough hunt, both getting to the birds and working them into range, but Brock did everythin...

Re: Gun oil?

We really need a spell-checker on this forum. I believe it is spelled t-r-y. And for what it's worth, we've been recommending that to members for years. ;)

But what about the gun oil?

Take my advice, though: Boys or girls, now or in the future, keep them away from "Uncle Stu" :o

Re: Conservation at its finest!

Actually, I have heard of people killing banded doves. Paul even banded some for AGFC up at Donaldson. I always check doves for bands - even the one I stratigically killed with my antenna! :P What I am real interested in seeing is the number of birds (particularly snow geese) banded each year. Was t...

Re: Conservation at its finest!

1 honker band in the pre-season; 1 snow band with Tony; 1 snow band with J.D. and Cameron (assuming they don't wrestle it from me :o ); and 1 snow band with Blake cox. No duck bands though, but I'm starting to see a pattern here with snow geese. I don't ever remember folks ever killing banded snows ...

Gun oil?

I need some and I remember Kyle talking about a product he really liked. Or was that a gun cleaner? :? What do y'all recommend. I've always just used Rem Oil, but it seems to gum up, so I'm looking for a good dry lube of some kind. (Good grief! I can almost hear y'all counting the seams on that one!...

Wader repair

Well I just got off the phone with a guy at Macks talking about waders (turns out mine are a year out of warranty) and he told me that "Aqua Seal" (white tube/blue letters) is the way to go on wader repair because it retains its elasticity (unlike Shoe Goo that I've been using). Have any o...

Conservation at its finest! (w/pix)

I made it over for a little snow goose action this weekend. Richie and I had some guys that Cameron and Kale met last year give us a call wanting to stay at the lodge in exchange for taking a few of us with them on some professionally guided and videoed hunts over decoys. Well. . . to make a real lo...

'08 - '09 Recap (w/pix)

I just deleted the first line I typed for this post that began, "Last year was certainly a memorable one". Why did I delete it? Because they all are, and it just seems to go without saying. I do always enjoy, however, going back occasionally and reading the old posts recounting the more me...
